AUTHENTICITY THANKS TO INTUITION, SELF-RECOGNITION AND SELF-EXPLORATION

What is essential to finding one's own “self”?

Mindfulness, activity, acceptance, decisiveness, patience, intuition, body awareness, creativity and self-confidence

Self-discovery means finding one's personality and personal expression. Respect and esteem for other people also require compassion, especially empathy. The necessary self-competence develops through life experience but also through looking and listening.

A healthy sense of self-esteem requires personal satisfaction. To live according to your needs and convictions, you must know yourself. Authenticity is the result of personal development.

Independence requires one's own opinion and values. Those who know their boundaries and can assess them in certain situations act diplomatically. However, social competence does not mean simply “throwing personal convictions overboard”.

Intuition is a natural ability that can also be defined as inner wisdom, as a “gut feeling”.

So how can intuition be encouraged and utilised in everyday life?

Mindfulness

Mindfulness involves being fully present and aware of your thoughts, feelings and sensations in the moment. You learn to trust your intuition, your “instinct”.

Activity

Creative activity (e.g. painting, drawing, writing, singing and making music) promotes personal expression and, thus, intuition.

Decision-making

Personal intuition is the basis for the most minor decisions in everyday life. For example, trust your intuition over time when getting dressed, eating, or practising personal hygiene. You will make progressive decisions in all areas of life.

Patience

Intuition takes both time and practice and, therefore, the necessary patience.

Like-minded people

Being together with like-minded people strengthens trust in personal intuition. Attending meetings, such as workshops or retreats, can support the concentration of intuitive development.

The body as an important source of intuition

Physical sensations, such as tightness in the chest, cramp-like feelings in the stomach, and pain of all kinds, are signals of imbalance, overexertion, mental stress or grief. If necessary, paying attention to such signals is essential and changing so.

Meditation

Meditating calms the mind and focuses attention on personal intuition. Those who meditate regularly learn to trust their “inner voice.”

Self-care

Taking care of your body and soul promotes intuition. Sufficient sleep, a healthy diet, regular exercise, and enjoyable activities are crucial.

Dreams

Dreams can be clues and wishes. They are often also a way of coming to terms with crises (nightmares). If you write down your dreams as soon as you wake up and keep a dream diary, you may recognise signs over time that can positively affect decision-making.

Trust

Intuition creates trust. If you are faced with an important decision, it is advisable to “listen to yourself”. It is best to rely on your “gut feeling”, even if the decision is unconventional or does not correspond to general opinion.

Intuition in everyday life means listening to your inner voice and gaining the necessary strength for self-improvement and motivation.
